The hardest season is the one we don’t want to be in and never want to go through again.
Seasons change, it's inevitable and sometimes difficult to embrace. Life and death are two seasons that will never change. However, we can learn how to approach the different seasons of change that lie in between.
Hate is a strong word but I used to hate change in my life because it always hurt. The seasons of my life brought more stress and anxiety than happiness. I now understand that happiness is a choice and I am the only person responsible for my happiness. So, I choose to be happy.
Don't let circumstances or people control your emotions. When the season's change and things seem to be too much to handle, take time to reflect. Sometimes life's circumstances force us to find new ways of living. We try to control the situation instead of taking the time to fully understand it. Yes, it's frustrating but when you loosen the grip and try not to control the situation, you will be able to better understand it and grow.
Understand that every day you are blessed with the opportunity to invest in yourself. I learned to carve out time to reflect, pray, and listen for God to guide my steps. I would be so quick to move without His guidance and that would only make situations worse.
Seasons change, just like winter, spring, summer, and fall. Whatever it is you are going through will not last forever.
Here are my tips for embracing seasons of change:
Know that your season is shifting. You are learning and growing.
There is something God wants you to learn in this season. Look to Him for guidance.
Every morning you wake up is a new opportunity to try again. Everyone didn’t get that opportunity. Take advantage of yours. Tomorrow is not promised.
You have a choice. You control your thoughts, emotions, and happiness. Therefore, you have the power to change your situation.
Don’t look at the negative. Instead, look at the positive and embrace it.
Stay active and make time for yourself.
Know that the best is yet to come!
Worrying doesn't change anything but trusting in God changes everything. You will look back on this season and embrace the fact that you have overcome it.
