3 Reasons why I started a blog and online store

Through the Journey is more than just an online store; it's also a motivational blog. A place to come for inspiration whether you want to wear it or read it.

I will let you in on a little secret. I am an introvert. I keep to myself. I am perfectly happy and content in my shell. Starting this blog has helped me come out of my shell and share a part of me with the world. Something I never thought I would do. I launched the Through the Journey blog a few years ago but decided to revamp it and start over.

I did ask myself, "what if no one reads my blog posts" or "what if no one likes what I have to say"? Jill Scott said it best "Everything ain't for everybody." But if you're looking for inspiration, motivation, and lifestyle stories, Through the Journey is here for you.

I love to write stories and see characters come to life, and I love to write in my journal. I can literally sit in a room all day with a pen and paper or a laptop and write. Journaling relaxes me and allows me to get whatever's on my mind out. I have learned a lot about myself from journaling. I write down my prayers, the scriptures I read, and my feelings. Writing is an emotional outlet for me.

Stories come to me in my dreams. I used to ignore it, but if I didn't get up and write the dream down, I couldn't go back to sleep. I don't know about you, but I need my sleep, and I get upset when my sleep is interrupted. Now I sleep with a pen and paper next to my bed so I can write my dreams down and go back to sleep.

I know now that my dreams are messages from God. Stories that need to be shared with the world. It may not be my story, but it's someone else's story that needs to be told with a message of overcoming whatever it is they are going through. That is how I came up with the story and characters for my first novel; All Things Come to an End. I look forward to sharing more stories with you.

I am empathetic of the hurts, needs, problems, and wishes of others and am here to inspire and motivate. Through the Journey online store and blog allows me to do that. I want people to know that they should not be ashamed of their journey because every test you face in your life was meant to be your testimony.

Through the Journey blog is an outlet for me to share experiences from my journey, stories, and encouragement. I was a teen mom and had my son when I was 15 years old. I've experienced infidelity in my marriage, dealt with anxiety and depression, and through it, all, lost my identity because I was putting everyone else wants and needs before my own.

Sometimes I would ask "why me" as I was going through situations. I realized the more I asked "why me," the worse things got. So, I stopped asking that question and started journaling and praying more. Everything that has happened in my life has not only been a learning experience for me but an opportunity for me to help others. I'm here to share and offer words of wisdom and inspiration.

Be Blessed!
